Aviation grade acrylic is a high-performance material designed specifically for the aviation industry, with excellent optical properties, mechanical strength, and weather resistance. It complies with aviation industry standards such as MIL-P-5425, MIL-P-8184, and MIL-P-25690 in the United States, and is widely used in aircraft cockpit windows, fighter canopy, windshields, wingtip lenses, outer laminates, and instrument panels.

1.Superior Optical Quality: It offers an extremely high light transmittance. For instance, the Acrylite® GMS aerospace-grade acrylic sheet achieves a light transmittance of over 92% and has an extremely low haze value, delivering clear visual performance.
2.Excellent Mechanical Properties: It possesses high tensile strength. Take Poly 84 (compliant with MIL-P-8184) as an example, its tensile strength can reach 11,250 psi. Meanwhile, it exhibits good impact resistance and compressive strength, enabling it to withstand various mechanical loads during aircraft flight.
3.Good Weather Resistance: After special treatment, it demonstrates outstanding resistance to ultraviolet (UV) rays, acids, alkalis, and water. It is less prone to aging, cracking, and other deterioration phenomena. For example, the Acrylite® 249 aerospace-grade acrylic sheet shows almost no changes in light transmittance and haze value after undergoing accelerated aging tests.
4.Dimensional Stability: It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, allowing it to maintain stable dimensions under different temperature conditions. For example, the coefficient of thermal expansion of Acrylite® GMS is 0.000061 in/in-°C, ensuring its normal operation even under the extreme temperature conditions encountered during aircraft flight.
